So for the past few years, if I had a series of questions to ask my kids, I would always add in the additional question, "Will you give me $20?" just to see if they are paying attention.
Example:
Me: Do you like your teacher?
Kid: Yes.
Me: Is she really nice?
Kid: Yes.
Me: Does she make class fun?
Kid: Yes.
Me: Will you give me $20?
Kid: No, Dad!
So it has become this running gag, that I decided to put on her lunch bag. It says:
"Read the following out loud"
(and repeat)
I am getting very sleepy.
I am under dad's spell.
I will give dad twenty dollars!"
She still won't give me $20. I guess I will have to keep trying.
